Dr. Martens

Hi lovelies,

Say hello to one of my favourite ever shoe purchases: these pointed Dr. Marten brogues. You can't really go wrong with docs can you? I would love to get myself a pair of boots with the fur in for winter as they are definitely the perfect boot for those icy/rainy British conditions. I purchased this lovely pair a couple of years ago now in the sale. They are so blaady comfortable and I love the unique pewter shade of them. I only have one issue and that is that somehow the colour rubbed almost straight away on the point of the toe and now they have two little round black marks on there which is annoying! I must walk really strangely or something, but going to pop into the Dr.Marten store and see what they suggest.
For the rest of my outfit I'm wearing a fairly recent ASOS sale purchase - these high waisted River Island tailored trousers. I've been wanting to get a pair of smart black trousers for ages. They are the perfect versatile piece that can be dressed up or down and worn with anything from heels to trainers to these brogues. I fancied going for the mix of smart/casual and so paired them up with my Urban Outfitters cropped sleeve jacket. It's not the perfect match, but I like the androgynous feel this suit-esque pairing gives to the outfit.
This mustard yellow beauty is a COS purchase I nabbed from the winter sales earlier this year. I really love the colour of this as you don't see it around that often and I think it's such a great Autumn shade. It is also slightly cropped which is great as I can tuck it in to skirts and trousers without the massive bulge. I absolutely love cos and wish I could afford to shop there all the time, as a wardrobe full of cos items would really be the dream. Every piece they have is so classic, effortlessly chic and always fit like a dream! I always make sure to check out their sales because they can be pretty great and you just know are going be really well made and the perfect fit. I've actually been eyeing up their most recent sale and it is preeety great.

It was a little chilly outside so I layered a poloneck underneath my jumper to keep me extra cosy. I need to invest in a few more polonecks as think they are one of the essential basic pieces i'll be needing in my wardrobe for this Autumn/Winter. They are great layering pieces and I think they automatically make every look really well put together. I am especially loving the cute sixties trend that's happening at the moment with them paired with knee high boots and mini skirts. Zara and Uniqlo have a great selection of affordable ones in at the moment which I may have to invest in.
To complete the androgynous feel of the outfit I stuck on my baker boy hat and trusty backpack which you guys are probably sick of seeing my now! I also randomly decided to put some dark lipstick on halfway through, so that's why my pictures keep changing from dark and light lips.
What is your wardrobe essential going to be this AW14?
